Research & Development

The Technology Departments are located at the svt headquarter in Seevetal, the Rolf Kuhn headquarter in Erndtebrück, the Flamro headquarter in Leiningen, the Odice headquarter in Marly (France) and the TFS Group headquarter in Haydock (Great Britain). The main tasks are to promote technical developments under ecological and economic aspects, to obtain the approvals and ensure the consistent high quality of our products.

They are a point of contact for internal and external technical support, evaluates deviations from the use of the approved systems and helps with the speedy application of approvals in individual cases.

Development

Research is the starting point for convincing, powerful fire protection products and systems. Based on the findings, the R&D departments in Seevetal, Erndtebrück, Leiningen, Marly and Seingbouse are developing new products and systems which must prove their performance in extensive fire tests. The basis of the developments are the problems and requirements from daily practice, for example maximum usability and easy processing.

In addition to our proven constructional fire protection the segment of customer-specific developments for industrial uses with the main focus on aviation, ships, rolling stock, (renewable) energy and industrial applications has been steadily expanded in recent years.

In addition to various fire protection requirements, this segment also has to meet specific requirements, such as the use of combustible carrier materials or extreme weathering resistance.

Approval

We propose and support the approval of new fire protections products and systems as well as the maintenance and updating of existing applications.

In an ongoing process of market analysis together with our international subsidiaries and worldwide partners, the needs and future targets of the different markets are attained. We carry out preliminary tests in our own fire test facilities. The standardized fire tests are performed by renowned and accredited testing laboratories. That results in the statutory certification of new penetration sealing systems and upgrading of our well-known and already certified systems and products.

Our products and systems are tested and approved according to a large number of national and international, cross-departmental or industry-specific standards (e.g. EN 1366, UL 1479/ASTM E814, UL 2079/ASTM E1966, FM 3971, DIN 4102, BS 476).

Production

With our own production sites in Germany and Europe we ensure the permanent and stable supply with our products.

For us it goes without saying to provide high quality products under consideration of the current workplace and environmental protection regulations.
Our internal Quality Management, self- and external monitoring, SCCP and ISO 9001:2015 certifications verify and ensure our high standards.

Technical Support

We offer comprehensive technical support and advice tailored to each individual situation and any special needs of our customers. It supports our branch offices as well as our national and international partners and develops specialised solutions for professional applications.

Application Technology

The application engineering division provides practical training courses for the processing of our products in accordance with the approval requirements and therefore helps to ensure a smooth and efficient construction process later on.

Fire Tests

In addition to the experiments during the development phase, our special in-house fire test facilities based in Seevetal, Erndtebrück, Marly and Seingbouse (both France) are used to carry out a thorough fire test. The results of these fire tests provide economical solutions even for complex application situations and are the basis for expert assessments or approvals in individual cases for specific problems.

The furnaces are also used by partner companies in cooperation for fire protection development projects.

With our flue gas scrubbing in the exhaust air of the furnaces any environmental pollution is kept to a minimum.
